Life at Rotondes Renovation of the station’s footbridge

It might take you a few extra minutes to reach Rotondes via Luxembourg station.

The surroundings of the central station continue to evolve and some changes directly impact access to Rotondes. From May 14 to September 13, the CFL and the City of Luxembourg will carry out renovation works on the Nord” footbridge at the station. During this period, going from the Bonnevoie district to the station and back will require some extra steps.

While the works are being carried out, the footbridge will be closed to the public. Several alternative routes will be put in place, along with appropriate signage:

  • Pedestrian detour A: Pedestrians can make their way around the northern side of the station via Rue de Bonnevoie and Rue du Fort Neipperg (walking time: allow for an extra 4 – 5 minutes).
  • Pedestrian detour B: Pedestrians can make their way around the southern side of the station using the temporary footbridge and the tunnel situated on the southern side of the station (walking time: allow for an extra 4 – 5 minutes). Please note that people with reduced mobility will not be able to use this footbridge, and that it will be closed every night between the hours of 00:30 and 04:00.

Alternatively, pedestrians can go around the station using bus lines 20 and 28 between Luxembourg Central Station and Gare-Rocade.

If you’re coming to an event at Rotondes by train or on foot, don’t forget to take this detour into account!
