INTENTION

For each of the six visuals, a title was chosen from the discography of six artists scheduled to perform at Congés Annulés. A fragment of the sound spectrum (the visual representation of the sound’s frequencies) from each track was isolated. The graphic curve derived from the selected audio frequency was then applied as a distortion to the original photo. This process created a vibrational shift in the image. The result is an abstract hybrid image, reminiscent of a film frame in motion, where traces of a frozen past mingle with the vibratory energy of the present.

Movement is the central idea of this concept. Movement through time but also through space: in the past, Rotondes’ site was dedicated to geographical transport. Today, it’s the site of a different kind of journey, through the festival’s avant-garde programming, symbolically represented by a scrolling audio timeline.”

BIOGRAPHIE

Lise Walgenwitz is a graphic designer based in Metz, primarily working with cultural organisations on projects such as exhibitions, festivals, and publications.

Her work is mainly vector-based, using minimalist forms as a canvas for bold, flat areas of pop colours, sometimes contrasted with darker, psychedelic patterns.

A music fan and printing enthusiast, her favourite playground is screen printing. This practice allows her to combine graphic experimentation with all of her passions.
