EN Alex is a 16-year-old misfit and high school dropout. In a final attempt to set Alex straight, her adoptive mother signs her up for an internship at a farm where Alex meets thirty-something Nina, a riding instructor who is taking a break from her partner Christine and their life in the city. Although Alex initially hates being stuck on the farm, she gradually connects with the horses. When upper-class Kathy arrives for a vacation, Alex dislikes her immediately. But as the days slowly drift by, the girls form a friendship, and when they are left alone one weekend things spin out of control.
FR Alex, une jeune fille de 16 ans, est en décrochage scolaire. Dans une dernière tentative pour remettre Alex sur le droit chemin, sa mère adoptive l'envoie faire un stage dans une ferme. Là-bas, elle rencontre Nina, une monitrice d'équitation qui prend une pause dans sa relation avec Christine. Bien qu'Alex déteste initialement être coincée à la ferme, elle se connecte progressivement avec les chevaux. Arrive ensuite pour des vacances à la ferme Kathy. Alex la déteste immédiatement. Mais, peu à peu, les deux jeunes filles construisent une amitié.

FR Le terme « queer » signifie « étrange », « peu commun », « bizarre », en opposition à la « norme » que serait l’hétérosexualité. Les projections de queer loox alternant entre la présentation de longs métrages, de documentaires et d’installations artistiques, dans le but d’offrir une véritable plateforme propice aux rencontres, aux discussions.
DE queer loox ist eine queer-feministische Filmreihe, die seit Dezember 2014 regelmäßig in den Rotondes organisiert wird. Queer steht dabei für das berschreiten traditioneller Identitätskategorien und eine kritische Auseinandersetzung mit der Grenze zwischen dem ‚Normalen’ und dem sozial ‚Illegitimen’. Die Filme der Reihe umfassen ein breites Spektrum an Spiel- und Dokumentarfilmen sowie künstlerischen Videoarbeiten. Mit queer loox möchten die OrganisatorInnen einen queer-feministischen Raum in Luxemburg schaffen, der neben dem Screening der Filme als Treffpunkt zum Austausch dienen soll.
EN queer loox is a queer-feminist film series that started in December 2014 at Rotondes. Queer means a crossing of traditional identity categories and implies a critical engagement with the division between the ‘normal’ and the social ‘illegitimate’. The series presents every other month a wide range of feature films, documentaries and video art. queer loox understands itself as a queer-feminist platform in Luxembourg, a meeting-point for discussion.
