EN Over the last few years, Detroit hip hop artist & producer Nolan Chapman, popularly known as Nolan The Ninja, has carved out a lane for himself by working relentlessly and taking things as they come. This has led to the release of multiple solo albums via DJ Soko’s Left of Center imprint, a steady stream of beat tapes and production credits as well as numerous show dates.

Even with the success, Chapman knows the longevity and overall success of an artist is often determined by their ability to grow and change with the times. As one of Detroit’s sharpest lyricists, that has meant producing more, playing around with new sounds, and changing his approach on the mic. Nolan is ready to bring something different to the table − and to the Rotondes’ stage – as demonstrated by his recent signing with Mello Music Group and the release of the tracks IMG and Oranges.

The importance of elaborate, yet authentic lyrics isn’t lost on M-Dot either. The Bostonian MC − who has toured the world and shared the stage with Wu Tang, Boot Camp Clik, Kid Cudi, Wiz Khalifia, Slaughterhouse – hopes to “bring awareness that conscious music and thought-provoking content will forever be more fulfilling in the end. And that’s what I stand for. Having lyrics that evoke passion and display real life tribulations.” (Item Live)

"Nolan the Ninja is a rapper of pure adrenaline. His voice, his body, his beats: They are all fully flexed, full of fire and hitting hard — especially the lyrics. [...] This self-ascribed “hip-hop nerd” just wants to be as inspiring to hip-hop fans as several icons of the '90s were for him when he was growing up." (Detroit Free Press)
